The Brief
The client had a dream from the start: a proper walk-in wardrobe. Not a large bedroom wardrobe — a dedicated dressing room. Their 240 sq ft master bedroom made this feasible by converting one corner.
The Design
An L-shape walk-in configuration: hanging rail on the long wall, shelving on the short wall, and a central floating island with 6 deep drawers.
Key Specifications:
- Area: 80 sq ft (10ft × 8ft)
- Partition: 10mm toughened glass on powder-coated black aluminum frame
- Carcass: IS:303 18mm CenturyPly (dry wardrobe space)
- Finish: Natural teak veneer with PU matte polish
- Hanging sections: Full-length (180cm) and half-length (90cm) in 60:40 ratio
- Island: 6-drawer Hettich tandem box island, 1.2m × 0.5m footprint
- Vanity: Integrated marble-top dressing table with lighted mirror panel
The Details
Sensor-activated LED strip lighting activates when you step in — a theatrical touch that makes the walk-in feel genuinely luxurious. The island has deep velvet-lined drawers for accessories and jewellery trays.
The glass partition creates a visual connection between the wardrobe and bedroom while maintaining a distinct zone identity.
Result
Bhubaneswar’s most requested feature from clients who have seen this project in our portfolio: “I want that walk-in.” The project has become our most cited design inspiration during client consultations.
